Standard Modules

Sales modules:
- Leads – Unqualified prospects; can be converted to Accounts, Contacts, and Deals.
- Contacts – Individual people associated with accounts.
- Accounts – Organizations or companies.

- Activities – Tasks, Meetings (formerly Events), and Calls.
Inventory modules:
- Products – Catalog of goods and services.
- Price Books – Custom price lists.
- Quotes – Sales proposals sent to customers.
- Sales Orders – Confirmed purchases.
- Invoices – Billing documents.

Custom Modules (User-Generated Modules)
Custom modules allow organizations to extend the CRM data model beyond the standard set. They are created using a WYSIWYG Module Editor with no programming required (Zoho CRM help: Customize Modules).
Custom module limits by edition (updated Q1 2025):
| Edition | Custom Modules Allowed |
|---|---|
| Standard | 10 |
| Professional | 25 |
| Enterprise | 200 |
| Ultimate | 500 |
Important: The limit now counts Organization Modules and Team Modules combined (e.g., an Enterprise account has a shared pool of 200 across both types) (Zoho community announcement). User-based restrictions have been removed—limits no longer scale with the number of licensed users.
What custom modules support:
- Full field customization and layout editor
- Role and profile-based access control
- Data import/export
- Workflow rules, Blueprints, and approval processes
- Mass email and schedulers
- Macros
- Module relationships (linking with standard or other custom modules)
- Autoresponders
Custom Modules vs. Custom Apps: Custom Modules behave like standard CRM modules (tabs, CRUD, reports, workflows). Custom Apps (powered by Zoho Creator) are full-fledged applications embedded as tabs—a more heavyweight option (Zoho CRM help: Customize Modules).
Team Modules (Introduced: CRM for Everyone, 2024–2025)
Team Modules are a new category of custom module introduced with the Zoho CRM for Everyone initiative (Zenatta CRM for Everyone analysis). They are scoped to a specific team's Teamspace rather than the entire organization, and feature four user personas with distinct permission levels:
| Persona | Permissions |
|---|---|
| Manager | Module-level admin rights |
| Member | View and update own + all team records |
| Participant | View/edit own entries only |
| Requester | Submit data that requires approval before becoming a formal record |
Team Modules support automation (workflows, Blueprints) using team module fields, enabling departmental process automation without relying on central admins (Zoho CRM community: Team Modules).
